ROCHELLE — Rochelle held two bowling matches at T-Byrd Lanes on Tuesday evening. While the Hubs were facing Ottawa, the Lady Hubs hit the lanes for their Interstate 8 Conference opener against the Sycamore Spartans. Despite a 559 series from senior Cassidy Vincent and a 521 series from junior Kylie McCullough, Sycamore took all three games to hand Rochelle a 2,449-2,304 defeat.
Sycamore claimed the first game, winning 868-815 behind 208 from Kaitlyn Ryder and 189 from Katrina Weigel. Vincent shot a 180 and McCullough fired a 182 to lead the Lady Hubs (1-1, 0-1 Interstate 8), who fell just six pins short in a 753-747 loss during the second game, where Vincent rolled a series-best 192 and McCullough added a 182. Ryder’s 211 led Sycamore.
The Spartans locked up the sweep with an 828-742 win in the third game, where Kaitlynn Doerner bowled a 212 to lead the Sycamore side and Vincent totaled a 187 for Rochelle. The Lady Hubs will be back in action with a road match against Kaneland on Thursday evening.
