The Rochelle girls bowling team continued its search for win No. 1 when the Lady Hubs hosted Kaneland at T-Byrd Lanes on Tuesday. The Lady Hubs came as close as they have to victory all season, but the purple and white ultimately fell a few pins short, dropping the match 2,482-2,216 to move to 0-6 overall.

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle girls bowling team continued its search for win No. 1 when the Lady Hubs hosted Kaneland at T-Byrd Lanes on Tuesday. The Lady Hubs came as close as they have to victory all season, but the purple and white ultimately fell a few pins short, dropping the match 2,482-2,216 to move to 0-6 overall.
Rochelle had opportunities to claim the first two games, finishing only a few pins short in each game. Kaneland took the opener 771-724 behind 164 from Faith Thomas, while sophomore Alyssa Mickley led the Lady Hubs with 153 in the first game.
The Knights leaned on Alexis Vittal during the second game, with Vittal scoring 204 to propel Kaneland over Rochelle 787-743 despite 176 from Mickley and 147 from senior Cassie Moore. Mickley rolled 158 to finish with a 487 series for the Lady Hubs, who fell 924-749 in the third game. Vittal recorded 228 to end the evening with a match-best 581 series.
