ROCKFORD — The Rochelle Lady Hubs opened the 2024-25 varsity bowling season with a victory on Monday, when senior Cassidy Vincent fired a 593 series to lead the purple and white during their nonconference match against Rockford Lutheran at Park Lanes in Rockford.
Junior Kylie McCullough followed with a 563 series for the Lady Hubs, who outscored the Crusaders 2,501-1,842 to begin the season with a win. Sophomore Ava Norris rolled a 422 series for the Lady Hubs (1-0, 0-0 Interstate 8), who will host Sycamore on Tuesday evening.
Rochelle defeated Rockford Lutheran 830-572 in the first game, where McCullough rolled a 180 and Vincent followed with a 168 to lead the Lady Hubs. Rochelle took an even greater series lead with an 855-545 victory in the second game, winning behind a series-best 223 from McCullough as well as a 186 from Vincent and a 136 from sophomore Magaly Belmonte.
The Lady Hubs clinched their sweep of the Crusaders with an 816-725 win in the third and final game, where Vincent shot a series-best 239 and McCullough added a 160. Norris rolled a 139.
