DIXON — Senior midfielder Makayla Lara cashed in an assist from teammate Betty Flores during the 62nd minute of regulation time to help the Rochelle Lady Hubs avoid the shutout during their nonconference varsity soccer match against Dixon on Thursday evening.
Lara booted in a pass from the senior defender Flores for her team-leading 24th goal of the season as the Lady Hubs fell to the Duchesses 7-1. Junior goalkeeper Rafaela Canaan recorded nine saves for the Lady Hubs (8-14, 2-8 Interstate 8), who will travel for a nonconference match against Oregon at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Dixon held a 17-3 advantage in shots and a 16-2 advantage in shots on goal during the match. Lara posted all three shots and both shots on goal for Rochelle in the loss.
