ROCHELLE — Like many other events, the City of Rochelle’s annual Hay Day has been canceled for 2020. But that doesn’t mean that residents can’t still enjoy the decorated bales around town.
According to Jenny Thompson, director of marketing, public relations and tourism for the City of Rochelle, the city’s law firm, Peterson, Johnson & Murray and Rochelle Community Hospital stepped in and covered the cost of the bales this year.
“There is no Hay Day this year due to COVID but there is hay bale decorating fun,” Thompson said.
There are more than 40 locations participating in the decorating this year.
