Dear Editor,
As I drive through the country-side and see numerous signs stating “Pritzker… the life out of small business,” I think during this pandemic my extended family and I should buy local. But what are these small businesses doing to make the consumers, “my family” feel safe? One clue is mask wearing. It gives us a great sense of comfort. So, as an owner, you are not scaring me by wearing a mask. In fact, if I see you wearing a mask I will be back.
My husband and I have saved a lot money since March eating at home, but we want to be able to eat out safely. We have tried to eat out in Rochelle, Oregon and Byron but most restaurants pretend COVID does not exist. I am looking for an establishment that says “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Mask ...No Service.” I want to spend money in the community. My husband and I used to eat out three-to-four times a week, however, if management and your staff are not masked, I will not come back.
I am a nurse that wears a mask eight hours a day with my nose covered (double masked for procedures). I take my mask off only to eat lunch. Please offer me the same courtesy when I want to spend money at your establishment.
Sincerely,
Theresa Fritz, RN
