DEKALB — Judy Maxine Krigbaum Booth, 78, slipped from this life peacefully, early Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019 in DeKalb.
Judy was born on Feb. 6, 1941, fifth of eight children, to Albert Benona and Zetta Agnes (Meyer) Krigbaum. She was brought into this world in the family home in Naylor, Missouri. In Judy’s early childhood the family relocated to northern Illinois. Judy attended Steward, Rochelle and Ashton schools during her youth.
Always a resourceful and motivated woman, Judy was employed by local factories, offices and restaurants. Judy and her sister, Pam, owned and operated a food truck serving the Rockford Park District sporting events. They served great food and had a wonderful time doing it.
Judy loved her family most of all, but also had a passion for nice clothes, anything cobalt blue and enjoyed a turn at playing slots on occasion. In her later years, she enjoyed travelling and made new friends everywhere she went, and never wasted an opportunity to ‘people watch.’ She was always curious and genuinely interested in people and their stories. Her humor and candid approach to conversation was never-ending.
Judy leaves a large hole in the lives and hearts of those who loved her and will never stop missing her. These people include her daughter Tammy Dreves Robbins of Malta; her son Brian Booth of Stockton; two granddaughters, Joshalyn (Bob) Reese of Aurora, and Danielle Mosley of Rockford; two grandsons, Gabriel Dreves of Malta, and Brian Booth Jr., MP of Honolulu, Hawaii; three great-grandsons, Mason, Corbin and Wilder; two loving sisters, Pam (Jim) Fenwick of Roscoe and Sherry Bernhardt (Ray) Quinn of Mastic, N.Y.; a very devoted niece, Belinda (Kevin) Thomas of Davis Junction; as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, family members and her many friends.
Preceding her into eternity are her parents, Zetta Agnes (Meyer) Krigbaum and Albert (A.B.) Benona Krigbaum; two beloved sisters, Glenna Robertson and Shirley Johnson; three treasured brothers, Robert Krigbaum, Jackie Krigbaum and Paul Krigbaum; two nieces, Sheila Krigbaum Hinrichs and Deborah Johnson Dickson; and a great-nephew, Skyler Krigbaum.
An open house celebration of Judy’s life is being held on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 1:30 to 6 p.m. at the Rochelle Firemen’s Hall, 314 Sixth Ave., Rochelle.
