CHANA — Kenneth Lloyd Stice, 80, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Ken was born on August 1, 1944, the son of Richard and Helen (Cantrell) Stice in De Soto, Missouri. He proudly served with the United States Marine Corp. and retired from the Illinois State Police. He had the privilege of being a bodyguard for two of the governors for the state of Illinois.
Ken is survived by his wife, Eloise of Chana, IL; four daughters: Julie (Kirk) Reinhart of Ashton, IL, Dee (Steve) Shepski of Waunakee, WI, Monique Grandinetti of Duluth, GA and Nichole (Junior) Prescod of Paw Paw, IL; three brothers: Ronald (Evelyn) Danback, Lloyd Danback and Michael Danback all of Missouri; two sisters: Karen (Greg) Heidbrier and Hope Danback both of Missouri; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 3:00 - 6:45 P.M., Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, following the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Joy Alsop and Pastor Norman officiating. Cremation care will be provided following the services. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
