MALTA — Fun classes are being offered through the Kishwaukee College’s Community Education this April.
Introduction to Genealogy: April 2 and April 4, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in room A1221. This introductory course for the novice genealogist will teach you how to start a free family tree using multiple online resources. $39.
Spring Essential Oils: April 3, 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Allergy, Aches & Pains in Sycamore. Join Dr. Teresa Melton, D.C. and owner of Allergy, Aches & Pains Chiropractic & Acupuncture Center, Ltd. to learn about essential oils to help you through the spring. $35.
Spring Fling Garden Container: April 6, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the college greenhouse. Choose from a variety of plants to create a unique and spectacular outdoor display to take home. Cost includes cloth container and plants. $45.
Egg-delicious!: April 7, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Hy-Vee in Sycamore. Join Chef Rudy Galindo to learn how to create egg meals that go beyond breakfast. Cost includes food and sparkling wine tasting. Must be 21 or older. $30.
Grisaille to Watercolor Workshop: April 8, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. in room B1426. Learn to paint in shades of gray to imitate sculpture. Introduction to color theory, value, shading wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry brush techniques will be taught. $54.
Drones 101, Beginner Class: April 9, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in room A1267. If you are thinking about getting a drone or already have one and are not sure what to do with it, this course is for you. $15.
Drones 102, Advanced Class: April 11, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in room A1267. So you bought an expensive drone and you aren’t sure what to do with it. This course will cover weather conditions, the differences between a hobbyist and professional drone pilot, and FAA rules. $15.
You Can Uku-Ukulele: April 13, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in room B1272 . Join our hands-on, action-packed class and receive immediate, get-to-know-it, get-to-do-it instruction in ukulele! $35 or $90 with instrument purchase.
Wilderness Survival, Level 1: April 27, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Afton Forest Preserve. Participants will learn how to start a fire, build survival tarp shelters, pack a survival backpack, and purify water. $59.
