MALTA — The Alpha Rho Eta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) welcomed 13 new members this spring at Kishwaukee College. The new members were inducted during a candle-lighting ceremony held in Jenkins Auditorium at the College on March 26.
PTK is the largest honor society in higher education with more than 3.5 million members worldwide. The society recognizes academic achievement of community college students and provides them with opportunities to grow as scholars and leaders.
To be eligible, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of coursework towards an Associate degree and earn a 3.5 GPA or higher. Students must maintain a high academic standing throughout their enrollment in the college. Membership is by invitation only.

The Spring 2019 inductees and their guests were welcomed to the college by Dr. Joanne Kanter, Vice President of Instruction. Assistant Professor of History Jennifer Jossendal addressed the attendees about making the most of their college careers and Adjunct Instructor of Music Soo-Yun Choi gave a lovely piano performance.
