ROCHELLE – For those looking to decorate their homes with live trees this Christmas, go no further than Caron Road in Rochelle.
For the fifth consecutive year, the St. Patrick’s Knights of Columbus club are hosting its annual Christmas tree sale in the parking lot of St. Patrick’s Education Center located at 903 Caron Road in Rochelle. The trees will be for sale for $45, $50 or $55 depending on height. Tree sales will be Thursday and Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. Free delivery is offered locally; delivery to neighboring towns is offered when available.
The Knights of Columbus received a total of 110 trees and 29 wreaths to sell this year.

“Last year we had the same amount and sold out in two or three weeks,” said Kirk Reinhart, former Grand Knight and main organizer of the sales.
The Christmas tree sales will begin the day after Thanksgiving and continue through the last Sunday before Christmas.
All of the Christmas trees and wreaths are balsam firs and were cut the week prior to delivery — which was Friday, Nov. 22 — from the McCluskey Tree Farm located in northern Wisconsin. While this has been a tough year for crops such as corn and soybeans, it has been a great year for harvesting Christmas trees.
“This has been a great year for tree growing and harvesting, it got cold early which causes the sap to stop flowing through the tree,” explained Pam McCluskey, co-owner of McCluskey Tree Farm LLC.
All of the funds earned through the sale of the wreaths and trees will be put back into the Knights of Columbus and used for future events and fundraisers.
