Man arrested for improper cannabis container

On Feb. 7 at 11:45 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Seventh Street, in Rochelle, for an equipment violation. After a short investigation, Anthony M. Urrutia, 28, of Sterling, was arrested for improper cannabis container-passenger. Urrutia was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
On Feb. 7 at 6:51 p.m., following a traffic stop at Illinois Route 251 and Lake Lida Lane in Rochelle, deputies arrested Jacob R. Albers, 26, of Mendota, for driving while license suspended. Albers was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond
On Feb. 8 at approximately 2 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 39 mile marker 102. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested a juvenile, 17, of Rockford, for no valid driver’s license. The juvenile was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. The juvenile was taken into limited custody and released to a guardian.
On Feb. 9 at 5:42 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an address in the 1900 block of North Church Road for a domestic disturbance. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Craig M. Larson Jr., 23, of Kings, for disorderly conduct. Larson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On Feb. 9 at approximately 9:40 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an address in Stillman Valley for the report of vehicular hijacking with a weapon. Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a lengthy investigation with the assistance of the Ogle County K9, Illinois State Police, Rockford Police and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s office. Pursuant to the investigation, William Silas, 18, of Richton Park, was arrested for vehicular hijacking, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated battery, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of aggravated assault and driving while license was suspended. Silas was confined at the Ogle County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
