CHANA — Margaret “Maggie” Anne Mortimer, 65, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Maggie was born Sept. 30, 1953 in Chicago, the daughter of Bernard and Anne (Doran) Puzan. She married Robert Mortimer on June 26, 1976 in Lombard.
Maggie loved being outdoors, enjoying the sun and warmth with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Bob, of Chana; three children, Joseph (Christine) Mortimer of Franklin Grove, Megan (Michael) Stanfill of Machesney Park, and Katelind (Chad) Groenhagen of Oregon; four grandchildren, Eliana, Deacon, and Maverick Mortimer and David Stanfill; three siblings, James (Barbara) Puzan, Kathy (Tracy) Lundin, and Susan (Robert) Bietsch; and many nieces and nephews.
Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Anne Puzan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St. in Rochelle. A funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating. Interment will be private. Contributions in Maggie’s memory may be directed to Serenity Hospice and Home.
