She had a long career in business, working in various offices (Creston Grade School, Illinois School Consulting Service, Associated Municipal Consulting) as a Business Associate. She then served for many years as an Investment Officer with the LaSalle National Bank. Martha absolutely loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed the holidays because it meant spending time with her kids, and their kids, and their kids. Blessed with many nieces and nephews, she loved spending time with them as well. And to be a member of her family, it was required that you liked playing cards. She would always say it couldn’t get any better than that. She was a big sports fan. Growing up in Nebraska, she was a huge Cornhusker fan and brought that with her when she moved to Illinois. After she got married, she had no choice but to start pulling for the Cubs, and she would never miss a Cubs game.  Martha loved getting her hair done (every week for 60 years). She had a huge collection of teddy bears and could tell you where she got every one of them, and she had hundreds. She loved watching meTV and may have been the biggest Perry Mason fan of all time. Mainly, Martha just loved being a Mom and Grandma. She had a great sense of humor, and a laugh that once you heard it, you would never forget. We may miss that laugh more than anything. The immediate family will gather for a Graveside service on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 am at Naperville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gentiva Hospice, 800 Enterprise Dr., Suite #111, Oak Brook, IL 60523; Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd.
