Officials file 15 counts of charges against Rochelle man

OREGON — Ogle County officials have filed 15 counts against a Rochelle man following a sexual assault and child pornography investigation.
Steven Molina, 22, has been charged with seven counts of the Class X felony offense of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and eight counts of the Class 2 felony of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

An investigation was initiated after the resource police officer in the Rochelle Elementary School District received word about the alleged incident from a counselor. The staff member had talked with a student.
Search warrants were executed by police at Molina’s home along with his car and a social media account. Several electronic devices were also seized by police.
There are currenty two victims in the case and Ogle County State’s Attorney Eric Morrow advised that no child pornography charges have been filed, although the investigation is ongoing.
Molina, who was arrested Feb. 7, remains in the Ogle County Jail on a $1 million bond. He is scheduled to return to court Wednesday for his preliminary hearing where he will plead guilty or innocent to the filed charges.
