On May 27 at 10:20 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of North Illinois Route 251 and East Dutch Road. After a brief investigation, Teja Murukutla, 22, of DeKalb, was placed under arrest for driving unlicensed. Murukutla was released on a notice to appear with a return court date.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: 27-29, 2025

OREGON — On May 27 at 10:20 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of North Illinois Route 251 and East Dutch Road. After a brief investigation, Teja Murukutla, 22, of DeKalb, was placed under arrest for driving unlicensed. Murukutla was released on a notice to appear with a return court date.

On May 28 at approximately 4:25 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a citizen complaint in the 5,700 block of North Junction Way, Davis Junction. After investigation, deputies placed Maynard Stivers, 82, of Leaf River under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a concealed firearm while under the influence of alcohol.  Stivers was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.

On May 29 at approximately 7:45 p.m. deputies conducted an investigative stop In the 7,000 block of Illinois Route 2. After a brief investigation, Alphonso D. Bennett, 20, of Rockford, was placed under arrest for driving on a revoked license. Bennett was released on a notice to appear.

On May 29 at approximately 2:11 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Freeport Road and Lanark Road. After an investigation, deputies cited Fredy Briceno Hernandez, 21, of Sterling, for driving while license suspended and speeding. Hernandez was given a notice to appear on June 18 for his citations and released from the scene.

On May 29 at approximately 10:21 a.m. deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Illinois Route 2 and Cartwright Lane.  An investigation determined a northbound vehicle being driven by a 16-year-old female of Mt. Morris failed to yield when turning left, and collided with a southbound vehicle being driven by Connie Seitz of Oregon.  The female juvenile was transported by Oregon EMS for suspected minor injuries. Deputies were assisted by Oregon Fire/EMS and the Oregon Police Department.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
