On April 9 at approximately 4:41 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of Queens Road and Flagg Road in Rochelle for a check welfare on the driver of a semi-truck/trailer. After an investigation, deputies arrested David Allen Vaultonburg, 39, of Polo for driving under the influence of alcohol. Vaultonburg was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released on notice to appear with a return court date.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: April 9-10, 2025

OREGON — On April 9 at approximately 4:41 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of Queens Road and Flagg Road in Rochelle for a check welfare on the driver of a semi-truck/trailer. After an investigation, deputies arrested David Allen Vaultonburg, 39, of Polo for driving under the influence of alcohol. Vaultonburg was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released on notice to appear with a return court date.

On April 9 at 8 p.m. deputies conducted a warrant service in the 700 block of West Indian Terrace in Oregon. Deputies arrested Shannon E. Tompkins, 41, of Oregon on an Ogle County warrant for failure to appear (driving while license suspended). Tompkins was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On April 10 at 6:37 p.m. deputies conducted a motorist assist in area of East Illinois Route 64 and South Kent Road for a vehicle stopped in the roadway. After a brief investigation, Fernando Hernandez, 76, of West Chicago, was arrested for driving unlicensed. Hernandez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was processed and released with a further court date. Hernandez was additionally cited for unlawful parking.

On April 10 at approximately 5:30 p.m. deputies and Rochelle Fire Department responded to the 12,000 block of East Flagg Road in rural Rochelle for a two-vehicle accident.  After a brief investigation, deputies learned a green Dodge Dakota struck the rear end of a red Chrysler 300 that was attempting to make a left-hand turn. Deputies cited a 16-year-old male juvenile from Chana for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.  All parties involved were unharmed.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
