On Dec. 10 at approximately 2:45 p.m. deputies and Byron Fire and EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident at East Illinois Route 72 and North Marrill Road. After an investigation, it was determined that a silver Honda Accord was westbound on Illinois Route 72 and was driven by a 17-year-old female Juvenile of Davis Junction when she failed to reduce speed and struck the rear of a green Nissan Maxima, traveling the same direction by a 16-year-old female juvenile of Byron. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Byron EMS for minor injuries. The driver of the Honda was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. ​

OREGON — On Dec. 10 at approximately 2:45 p.m. deputies and Byron Fire and EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident at East Illinois Route 72 and North Marrill Road. After an investigation, it was determined that a silver Honda Accord was westbound on Illinois Route 72 and was driven by a 17-year-old female Juvenile of Davis Junction when she failed to reduce speed and struck the rear of a green Nissan Maxima, traveling the same direction by a 16-year-old female juvenile of Byron. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Byron EMS for minor injuries. On Dec. 11 at approximately 8:37 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Mill Road and Illinois Route 72. After further investigation, John Green, 41, of Forreston was arrested for driving while license suspended. Green was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Green was released on an I-Bond and will appear in court at a later date.

On Dec. 11 at approximately 11:31 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 17,000 block of East Illinois Route 64. After brief investigation, Deputies arrested Logan Marshall, 23, of Janesville for driving while license suspended. Marshall was also issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and an equipment violation. Marshall received an I-Bond with a return court date later next month and was released on scene.
