Ogle County Sheriff's Report: Dec. 20-25, 2024

OGLE COUNTY — On Dec. 20 at approximately 11:23 p.m., Deputies responded to 3747 W. Illinois Route 64, Lot 31 (Mount Morris Estates) for reports of a domestic disturbance. After further investigation, Timothy D. Rosquist, age 63 of Mount Morris, and Genesis A. Swartz, age 21 of Mount Morris, were arrested for Domestic Battery. Timothy and Genesis were transported to the Ogle County Jail and detained pending a court appearance before a judge. All subjects are presumed innocent.

On Dec. 21, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Ogle County Deputies conducted a warrant service at Junction Liquors (5657 N. Junction Way, Davis Junction). Deputies located and took into custody Joseph A. Myers, age 27 of Davis Junction, for an active 2023 Ogle County arrest warrant for DUI. Myers was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On Dec. 21, at approximately 3:12 a.m., Ogle County Deputies responded to the 11500 block of East Holcomb Road for the report of a car in the ditch. Upon arrival, Deputies located a female asleep in the driver seat. After an investigation, Deputies arrested Katie J. Smith, age 44 of Holcomb, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Deputies took Smith into custody without incident and transported her to the Ogle County Jail where she was booked and released on a Notice to Appear. Smith was additionally charged with DUI-Alcohol >.08 and cited for Failure to Reduce Speed/Too Fast for Conditions. Smith is set to appear in court in late January.  All subjects are presumed innocent. 

On Dec. 20 at approximately 4:03 p.m., Deputies responded to a Domestic Battery that had occurred in the 500 block of South Garfield Street in Leaf River.  After investigation, Deputies placed Nathan Webster, age 18 of Leaf River under arrest for Domestic Battery.  Webster was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge. 

On Dec. 22, at approximately 3:46 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of North Illinois Route 2.  After investigation, Deputies placed Colton Miller, age 32 of Galesburg under arrest for Driving While License Suspended.  Miller was additionally issued citations for operating a vehicle with suspended registration and operating an uninsured vehicle.  Miller was released on a Notice to Appear and given a future court date at the scene.  All suspects are presumed innocent.  

On Dec. 22, at approximately 8:58 a.m. Deputies responded to 15602 E. Lindenwood Road in reference to a Domestic Battery.  After investigation, Deputies placed Blaine Henley, age 43 of Lindenwood under arrest for Domestic Battery.  Henley was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.  All suspects are presumed innocent.

On Dec. 21 at approximately 4:04 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop just into Lee County on Lost Nation Road.  After investigation, Deputies placed James Rodriguez, age 54 of Dixon under arrest for Driving While License Revoked and a Lee County FTA Contempt of Court warrant.  Rodriguez was issued citations for expired registration, operating an uninsured vehicle, improper use of registration, and speeding 15-20 mph over the speed limit.  Rodriguez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear on the Driving While License Revoked arrest and given a future court date.  Rodriguez was held in lieu of bond for the Lee County warrant.  All suspects are presumed innocent.  

On Dec. 21, at approximately 3:08 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1,000 block of N. Route 251. After an investigation, Deputies arrested Helena Ghadosh, age 28, of Rockford, for driving while license suspended and an active FTA warrant out of Whiteside County. Ghadosh was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where she was held in lieu of her warrant. Ghadosh was given a notice to appear for her driving while license charge.  All suspects are presumed innocent.

On Dec. 23 at approximately 10:06 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of East IL 38. After further investigation, Deputies arrested Jarret B Speck, age 26, of Loves Park, for Driving While License Suspended. Speck was also cited for Speeding 26-34mph over the limit. Speck was given a Notice to Appear for the Driving While License Suspended and released on scene. All suspects are presumed innocent.

On Dec. 22, at approximately 5:18 p.m., Deputies responded to the 12,000 block of East Illinois Route-64 outside of Kings in reference to a two-vehicle accident. Upon further investigation, it was learned that a blue Ford Escape, driven by Tamela S Byrns, age 57, of Polo, struck the rear end of a John Deere tractor, pulling a manure spreader. The driver of the John Deere was uninjured. Byrns was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Byrns was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of drugs and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Byrns was released on a notice to appear and provided a future court date. Rochelle Fire/EMS and Flagg Center Fire/EMS assisted Deputies at the scene. All subjects are presumed innocent.

On Dec. 24 at 8:41 a.m., The Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Union and Chicago in Davis Junction.  Subsequent to the stop, Nicole Hill, age 37, of Davis Junction was arrested for Driving While Suspended.  She was released with a January court date.  All subjects presumed innocent.

On Dec. 25, at 3:05 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Illinois Route 251 and Illinois Route 72. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Chiffon Felix, age 46 of Rochelle, for driving while license revoked. Felix was transported to the Ogle County Jail for processing. Felix was released with a notice to appear. Felix was also issued citations for speeding and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. All subjects are presumed innocent.

On Dec. 25, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Deputies were dispatched to the 20000 block of Fairview Road in reference to a vehicle in the ditch. After an investigation, Deputies arrested Silverio Caballero-Garcia, age 24 of Creston, for no valid license. Caballero-Garcia was also issued citations for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Caballero-Garcia was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was processed and released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.  All suspects are presumed innocent.
