On Nov. 28 deputies received a report of a theft in the 6,100 block of West Pines Road. After investigation, deputies placed Brandon Montag, 30, of Byron under arrest for theft over $500 (class-three felony) on Dec. 6 at approximately 4:18 p.m. Montag was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.

OREGON — On Nov. 28 deputies received a report of a theft in the 6,100 block of West Pines Road. After investigation, deputies placed Brandon Montag, 30, of Byron under arrest for theft over $500 (class-three felony) on Dec. 6 at approximately 4:18 p.m. Montag was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.
On Dec. 6 at approximately 2:37 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on the 200 block of North Union Road. After investigation, deputies placed Dalton Haenitsch, 29, of Polo under arrest for an active Whiteside County warrant for obstructing a court order and an active Lee County warrant for contempt of court. Haenitsch was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On Dec. 7 at approximately 8:32 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Illinois Route 2. After investigation, deputies placed Kurtis Crabb, 31, of Rockford under arrest for driving while license revoked. Crabb was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.
On Dec. 7 at approximately 7:35 a.m. deputies responded to the intersection of East Illinois Route 72 and North Kishwaukee Road for a two-vehicle accident. After a brief investigation deputies discovered that Martin R. Gorsuch, 61, of Stillman Valley made in improper left turn into oncoming traffic. While Gorsuch attempted to make a left turn onto North Kishwaukee Road from East Illinois Route 72 he struck Amanda S. Camling, 21, of Oregon who was driving westbound on East Illinois Route 72. Camling was transported by Stillman Valley EMS to Mercy Riverside Hospital for suspected minor injuries. Gorsuch was issued a citation for improper left turn/oncoming traffic.
On Dec. 7 at approximately 5:55 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of North German Church Road and East Pleasant Grove Road for a two-vehicle accident. After a brief investigation, deputies discovered that Joshua D. Eddy, 48, of Rockford, was driving eastbound on East Pleasant Grove Road. Eddy disregarded the stop sign on East Pleasant Grove Road and struck the northbound on North German Church Road pickup truck on the driver’s side. The pickup truck was driven by Jacob R. Kass, 25, of Ashton. Eddy was transported by Oregon EMS to KSB Hospital for suspected minor injuries. Eddy was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, disregarding an official traffic control device and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
On Dec. 8 at approximately 3:16 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of South Freeport Road. After investigation, deputies placed Jamie Boolman, 34, of Peoria under arrest for driving while license suspended. Boolman was additionally issued a citation for improper container/driver. Boolman was released on a notice to appear at the scene.
On Dec. 8 at approximately 7:35 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 14,000 block of East Illinois Route 72. Upon further investigation deputies arrested Luis Balbuena, 32, of Hanover Park, for driving while license suspended. Balbuena was released on a notice to appear with a future court date given.
On Dec. 8 at approximately 10:12 p.m. deputies received a report of a driving complaint in the area of West Oregon Trail Road and South Evergreen Road. It was reported that a silver older model Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck had left the roadway, struck a tree, and then left the scene traveling westbound on Oregon Trail Road toward Polo. Responding deputies located a silver Chevrolet Silverado in the 400 block of East Dixon Street matching the description given by the person reporting. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the Chevrolet and after investigation, arrested Hugo Salinas-Garcia, 50, of Polo, for driving under the influence of alcohol and no driver’s license. Salinas-Garcia was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ogle County Jail. Salinas-Garcia was additionally charged with aggravated DUI and issued a citation for unsafe backing in the roadway. Salinas-Garcia was released from the Ogle County Jail on a notice to appear with a return court date set for later this month.
On Dec. 10 at approximately 12:27 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 6,000 block of North Illinois Route 2. After investigation, deputies placed Megan Soto, 35, of Mt. Morris, under arrest for driving with a license expired more than one year. Soto was released on a notice to appear at the scene.
All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
