OREGON — On June 13 at approximately 8:18 p.m. deputies responded to the 1,700 block of West Illinois Route 64 regarding a reported two-vehicle collision with unknown injuries. After an investigation, it was determined that a white Volkswagen Passat traveling westbound struck a silver Nissan Rogue traveling eastbound. After striking the Nissan, the Volkswagen continued into the south ditch, striking a utility pole, then overturning in a field. deputies placed the driver of the Volkswagen Passat, Abby L. Wellman, 22, of Sterling, under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Wellman was additionally cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Wellman was transported to OSF St. Katharine's Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries, and released with a notice to appear in court on a later date. Members of the Oregon Police Department, the Mt. Morris Fire Department, and the Oregon Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.
On June 14 at 6:12 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Lincoln Street in Byron. As a result, deputies arrested Dyln L. Ross, 27, of Wind Lake, Wisconsin, for driving while license suspended. Ross was additionally issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and no splash guards (mud flaps). Ross was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.
On June 14 at approximately 8:54 p.m. deputies along with Mt. Morris EMS responded to the 3,200 block of West Illinois Route 64 regarding a single-vehicle Accident. After an investigation, deputies determined a westbound vehicle operated by Sandra L. Avery, 51, of Mt. Morris, had traveled off of the north shoulder of the road. Due to the steep decline, Avery was unable to correct the vehicle's path and struck a tree and concrete culvert. Avery was evaluated by Mt. Morris EMS and released from the scene with minor injuries.
On June 14 at 10:25 p.m. deputies responded to the 200 block of Ramona Avenue in Hillcrest for a domestic disturbance. After an investigation, Milagro M. Nunez, 31, of Aurora, was arrested for domestic battery. Nunez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held pending an appearance before a judge.
On June 15 at approximately 9:04 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Illinois Route 38 and Dement Road. After investigation, Michael L. Williams, 63, of Rochelle, was arrested for no valid license, and an in-state warrant. Williams was additionally cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and suspended registration. Williams was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.
On June 16 at approximately 9:04 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West Illinois Route 72 and Mt. Morris Road. After investigation, deputies placed Laura Madden, 61, of Mt. Morris, under arrest for driving while license suspended. Madden was released on scene with a notice to appear at a future court date.
On June 16 at approximately 11:12 a.m. deputies responded to a domestic disturbance located at 201 W. 2nd St. in Leaf River. After an investigation Ogle County deputies arrested Victoria Fant, 49, from Leaf River, for domestic battery. Fant was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held pending an appearance before a judge.
