On Oct. 30 at approximately 3:20 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of South Freeport Road. After an investigation, deputies arrested Claudio Nicolas-Martinez, 23, of Freeport, for driving without a valid driver's license and speeding. Nicolas-Martinez was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was booked in and released on a notice to appear for his citations.

OREGON — On Oct. 30 at approximately 3:20 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of South Freeport Road. After an investigation, deputies arrested Claudio Nicolas-Martinez, 23, of Freeport, for driving without a valid driver's license and speeding. Nicolas-Martinez was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was booked in and released on a notice to appear for his citations.
On Oct. 31 at approximately 8:10 a.m. deputies, along with the Polo Police Department and Polo EMS, responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 4,000 block of South Illinois Route 26. After an investigation, it was learned that a 17-year-old female from Forreston had driven off the roadway and struck a culvert. The 17-year-old sustained minor injuries and her baby was uninjured. Both were transported to KSB Hospital by Polo EMS. The driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to properly secure a child safety seat.
All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
