ROCHELLE — An open house reception for Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson and councilman Don Burke was held at city hall on Wednesday afternoon as many local citizens, community leaders and city staff honored the outgoing public officials.
Olson served the past 16 years as mayor, while Burke served the past four years on the council.
Both men talked about the growth and progress the city has seen in recent years and each gave credit to the dedicated city staff members and caring citizens who work hard to improve lives in the community.
Both men received commemorative plaques and gifts from the council and staff and refreshments were served to guests who came to thank the men for their service.
