Park district suspends all programs, leagues and classes


ROCHELLE — Based on recommendations from the CDC and IDPH and to ensure the safety of patrons, participants and staff, the Flagg-Rochelle Park District has made the decision to suspend all programs, leagues and classes through April 3.

Please know that at this time, there are NO reported cases of COVID-19 within Ogle County. The district will re-evaluate the situation and inform the community of further decisions the week of March 30.

Those currently enrolled in programs will receive a prorated credit on their account for any classes affected. Private rentals during the month of March have also been cancelled. All deposits will be refunded. If you have any questions, please contact the park district office at 815) 562-7813 or

Please continue to follow these guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19:

Avoid getting closer than six feet to anyone coughing or sneezing;

Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer that has 60-95% alcohol. This is especially important after going to the bathroom, before eating, or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing;

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth;

Cover your mouth with a tissue or your elbow if you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash, and then wash your hands;

Stay home if you are sick;

Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces regularly;

This remains a dynamic situation and we will update our decisions and recommendations on a regular basis," Maureen Stevens, superintendent of administration and finance for the park district said in an email release.
