ROCHELLE — Since 2017 the Loyal Order of Moose has honored men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Joe Peeling of the Rochelle Moose Lodge was honored at the Valued Veteran Banquet on Nov. 10 at the Rochelle Moose. Joe served in Vietnam for two tours of duty and received three Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star annotated by a bronze "V" device and The Air Medal.

But Joe was not selected just for his service to our nation, he was selected for his service to our community. He has bartended at the Moose Lodge, cooked meals and participated at numerous other events. He is truly worthy of being the Rochelle Lodge's Valued Veteran of the Year.
