Protect yourself and wear a mask

Posted

Dear Editor,
When I drive down the road, I expect people to drive safely. We all rely on that. Even when there are a group of cars slightly exceeding the speed limit on the interstate, we still are cautious drivers. Likewise, we need to be cautious with Covid-19.
My brother wears a mask and is super cautious but still caught Covid-19 from a coworker who wore a gaiter neck cloth (neck gaiters are too thin to keep the droplets in) who kept coughing all week long. My brother thinks he touched paperwork that had droplets on it then rubbed his eyes.

Here are symptoms my brother has had for over a week and he’s still not out of the woods: high fever, wicked headache that won’t recede, rash on bottom of his feet causing blisters, chills, nausea, vomiting, severe diarrhea, intense  coughing, lots of head and chest congestion, difficulty sleeping and foggy thinking.
Every single day.  Every single symptom. The strain on the body is horrible.
This virus will eventually die out as the Spanish Flu, H1N1, SARS, etc. have done. Until it does, protect yourself, your loved ones, your friends, your neighbors, your coworkers. Wear the mask. Wash your hands. Stay safe.
