MT. MORRIS — Raymond Henry Blythe, 71, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at his home in Mt. Morris, Illinois.
Ray was born on October 4, 1953, to Roger L. and Mildred M. (Coil) Blythe in Princeton, IL. He proudly served with the United States Marines from 1976 to 1980. He loved spending time with his family and his cats. Ray also enjoyed playing cards, dancing and singing karaoke and especially liked to have fun and joke around. Ray really liked to help as many people as he could.
Ray is survived by his sister, Evelyn Whitmer of Mount Morris; brother, David Blythe of Evansville, IN; 16 nieces and nephews including Marie Richardson and many great nieces and nephews including Brianna, Talon and Raylene.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.
The visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 9, 2025 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 9, with Pastor Lance Mennen officiating. Burial will follow the service at Steward Cemetery in Steward, IL with military honors provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard and the Marine Honor Guard.
