LAS VEGAS — Richard James Barnes passed away at the age of 90 on October 31, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Richard graduated in 1952 from Rochelle Township High School in Illinois. He served over 25 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sargeant (E-9) in 1977 in Las Vegas. He worked at the El Cortez for 10 years and Flamingo Hilton Casino for 5 yrs, as a Casino Executive before retiring in 1992.
During his distinguished career in the USAF, he was stationed in 6 different countries and visited 76 countries. Richard enjoyed fishing and football.
Preceded by son, James Edward Barnes (died 1957), and his beloved wife, Irene A. Barnes (died 1992). He is survived by his two daughters; Cathy Havis and Karen Newton and their families; and spouse Pranom Barnes.
Those who knew Richard will remember his soft-spoken ways and kind heart.

Graveside Burial will be at Boulder City, NV Veterans Memorial Cemetery on December 5, 2024 at 11:20 am with full military honors.
