ROCHELLE — Richard “Rick” Henry Kurz, age 66, died March 28, 2025 in Rochelle IL. He was born July 3, 1958 in Rochelle. He was the son of Orville and Barbara (Bunger) Kurz. He graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1976. He was a farmer in Ogle County for many years and a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle. 

He is survived by his brother Dennis (Katie) Kurz of Santa Fe NM, his aunt, Mary Bunger, and many cousins. Special thanks to Rick’s cousins, Pat Gonzales, Tom Metzger, and Mick Metzger, for the care they gave him during his extended illness.

Rick loved spending time outdoors on the farm. He enjoyed listening to music and keeping up with current events in his community. He was fascinated with trains. Spending time with his family was an important part of his life.

Rick’s wishes were to be cremated and to have his ashes spread on his farm. Memorials may be sent to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home.  Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
