ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce it will be moving its office to 501 W. 6th Ave (formerly The Cat & The Fiddle building) in downtown Rochelle and opening for business beginning Jan. 5, 2021. The building is owned by the Necem Group LLC.

The Greater Rochelle Economic Development Corporation (GREDCO) and the chamber have formed a partnership and will co-locate in the newly renovated office space. The two groups hope to host an Open House as soon as COVID-19 meeting restrictions are lifted and groups can gather.

“It has always been a goal of mine to have the chamber in a downtown location, as it is the heart of the community”, said Tricia Herrera, executive director. “The Board of Directors and I are excited to have our new offices in the middle of so many small businesses.”

GREDCO has had a rich history in the community since the 1970s, assisting the City of Rochelle with economic and railroad development. Herrera will serve as its first administrator.

The Chamber of Commerce is grateful to Dave Diamond, DPS Companies who has been its landlord for over 10 years at the Currency Court location. That office will be closed between Dec. 24, 2020 to Jan. 4, 2021 for the move.
