LAKELAND, Florida — Rosella Irene Capes, 90, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Feb. 28, 2020. Rosella was born in Rochelle on Dec. 19, 1929 to Guy and Lucille (Biggers) Mussleman. She married Airman Orville Capes in Kingston, England, on Oct. 11, 1952.
She worked as a secretary and also bookkeeper for her husband’s business. She enjoyed her service in the church as a Sunday School teacher, choir director and an organist.
Rosella is survived by four children, Steven (Carie) Capes, Debra Capes, Gary Capes and Grant Capes; two grandchildren, Ryan Grant and Brian Capes; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville; one baby daughter, Peggy Rae, who passed away at the age of three months in England; as well as four brothers, Grant, Ralph, Leonard and Lee.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 7 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. 6th St. Rochelle. Burial will follow at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Homes.
