ROCHELLE — Roy Francis Cardott, 83, passed away Sunday, March 6 at Pinecrest Terrace in Mt. Morris. Roy was born on Jan. 16, 1939 to Edward and Irene (Austin) Cardott in Rochelle. On June 23, 1961, he married Eddie Mae Russell in Kings. He retired from Sawicki Motor Company in 2000 after 36 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eddie Mae on Nov. 17, 2014; brother, Ron Cardott and two sisters: Roxie Hill and Rosey Nordick.
Roy is survived by his three daughters: Iona (Jim) Case of Rochelle, Ramona (Steve) Kraft and Renee (Burt) Lederer both of Dixon; four brothers: Rick Cardott of Cordova, Illinois, Ralph (Barb) Cardott of Mt. Morris, Randy Cardott of Cordova and Rusty (Shirley) Cardott of Alberta, Canada; seven grandchildren: Denise (Pete) Johnson, Jacki (Jake) Nauman, Aryn ( Liz Pardo) Case, Zach (Hope) Kraft, Erica (Cody) Boyle, Tyler (Courtney) Thomas and Ashley (Travis Cox) Thomas; eight great grandchildren: Andrew Johnson, Isabella Nauman, Beau Kraft, Auggie and Evy Boyle and Nolan, Grant and Indie Thomas.
The visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, March 10 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Burial is at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
