ROCHELLE — 2022-2023 Rochelle Township High School Key Club officers were installed Thursday morning.
Outgoing Key Club President Madison Ost turned the gavel over to incoming President Dalila Garcia and her board which includes Vice President Abel Huerta, Treasurer Samantha Thorne, Secretary Zalak Patel, Statistical Secretary Annaleigh McKinney, Editor Jessica Nguyen and Sophomore Representative Charlotte Simmons.
2021-2022 Key Club Officers included Huerta, Riley Flanagan, Margaux DaCosta, Julie Berry, Garcia, McKinney, Nguyen, Ella McKinney, Marlen Hueramo and Ost.
Advisor Joe Howard took a moment to thank the outgoing crew for helping him through his first year as club advisor and then in a tradition started by former advisor Danae White, he distributed his outgoing officers with Key Club survival kits that included a candle so they can shine bright, some Sour Patch candies because sometimes life hands you lemons, a Fanta soda because he finds them Fanta-stic, rubber bands to demonstrate the need for flexibility, a Starbucks gift card and a bag of chips, “May you always be all of these things and a bag of chips,” he said.
