ROCHELLE — Rochelle Township High School sophomore Taylor Rogers recently received the Rochelle Rotary Service Above Self Award for December. Taylor has already recorded 399 Silver Service community volunteer hours at RTHS. She has been a Hope Chest volunteer, worked concessions at the RTHS Sectional Speech meet, participated in Make a Difference Day, helped at the Two-Ton Holiday Food Drive Box distribution, and has spent many hours as a library assistant at the Flagg-Rochelle Public Library. Taylor is also a member of the RTHS Student Council and was the cross country manager this fall. Her teachers fully endorse her for this honor saying she is, “Highly motivated, responsible and focused. She strives to be successful academically and pushes herself to be her best.” Keep up the great work Taylor! We can’t wait to see what the rest of your high school years, and beyond, have in store for you. Taylor received a full scholarship to participate in RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, held in Oregon in May.
