STERLING — Deadline to submit complete applications with all supporting attachments has been extended to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 15, to the attention of Betty Clementz at the Regional Office of Education, 1001 W. 23rd St., Sterling, IL 61081.

Due to the pandemic, as well as the closings of schools and of the regional office, the deadline has been extended to be assured that personnel will be in the office on the deadline date to receive faxed copies or hand deliveries of applications.

Scholarships are available to benefit Ogle County students pursuing a four-year degree.

Theodore Schoon established a trust in honor of his parents, Dr. Theodore G. Schoon and Margaret Schoon, who were residents of Forreston. Ogle County students who were recipients in the past year are eligible to apply using the renewal form.

Both applications forms may be downloaded from the website of www.roe47.org. For questions, contact Betty Clementz at the Regional Office of Education at bclementz@roe47.org or Kirk Pearson at US Bank in Freeport at kirk.pearson@usbank.com.
