Softball: Lady Hubs pour on runs at Plano

Rochelle cruises to 15-0 win over Reapers


PLANO — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity softball team poured on the runs against Plano, cruising over the Reapers 15-0 Monday evening to snap a four-game losing streak. The Lady Hubs (6-9) will host Ottawa on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Senior Bella Lodico and sophomore Morgan Smardo combined for nine strikeouts across four innings on Monday, holding the Reapers to only one hit. Senior Kendal Ansteth went 2-for-3 at the plate, doubling once and recording a team-high three RBIs in the win.

Junior MeLisa Young finished a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while junior Lauren Jackson totaled one hit and two RBIs. Junior Jordin Dickey went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and sophomore Addie Friestad finished 2-for-2 with one RBI. Senior Zoe Hardcastle added one hit and one RBI.


The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity softball team faced a tough Sycamore squad Friday afternoon, falling 5-0 and moving to 5-9 on the season. Senior Kendal Ansteth singled twice and doubled for the Lady Hubs, while senior Bella Lodico and junior Jordin Dickey each singled in the loss to the Spartans.
