The Rochelle varsity softball team split two games in a quadrangular meet at Belvidere High School on Saturday. The Lady Hubs fell 7-3 against Belvidere before topping Rockford Jefferson 9-8 on a walk-off RBI single by senior Emilee Dueringer.

BELVIDERE — The Rochelle varsity softball team split two games in a quadrangular meet at Belvidere High School on Saturday. The Lady Hubs fell 7-3 against Belvidere before topping Rockford Jefferson 9-8 on a walk-off RBI single by senior Emilee Dueringer.
Junior Hannah Luxton went 2-for-3 to lead Rochelle in its opening game against Belvidere. Senior Becca Bunger and senior Maddi O'Rorke each went 1-for-3, with Bunger walking once and O'Rorke reaching on a hit-by-pitch once.
Emilee Dueringer and junior Abby Reish each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the victory against Rockford Jefferson. Senior Mandi Lamb went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Junior Ally Reish started on the mound, striking out eight before sophomore Bella Lodico closed out the win. Lodico pitched two and one-third innings, striking out eight batters.
