Ashton Franklin Center High School Valedictorian Natalie Sondgeroth was presented her school’s DAR Good Citizen award individually by Rochelle DAR Chapter’s Vice Regent Lydia Roberts as part of the socially distanced graduation assembly at AFC. She was chosen for exemplifying the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism through a process involving her fellow students and teachers. Following her walk across the stage to receive her diploma, Sondgeroth celebrated with the traditional toss of her mortarboard signifying launching into the future. She plans to pursue a degree as a physical therapist.
