ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Township High School speech team finished second at the 24-team DeKalb Invitational over the weekend. Speaker of the week was Paul Swartz.
Cary Grove edged the Hubs out as team champions. Individuals who earned finalist honors included:
Varsity
Megan Thiravong, first place in Extemporaneous Speaking.Paul Swartz/Mikayla Preston, first place in Humorous Duet Acting.
Ava Coglianese, second place in Special Occasion Speaking. Faith Worthington, second place in Informative Speaking. Bella Nauman, second place in Oratorical Declamation.
Ava Coglianese, fourth place for her Original Comedy. Faith Worthington, fourth place in Impromptu Speaking.

Morgan Haas, sixth place in Oratorical Declamation. Heidi Cruz, sixth place in Special Occasion Speaking.
