ROCKFORD — T-Byrd Lanes sent several league bowlers to the 2020 Illinois USBC Youth Championship tournaments at Forest Hills Lanes and Cherry Bowl recently. U8, U10 and U12 players competed on Jan. 18-19 at Forest Hills Lanes, while U15, U17 and U20 bowlers went to the Cherry Bowl on Feb. 29 and March 1.
Cassidy Vincent qualified out of the U15 Girls Division at Cherry Bowl, taking sixth out of 37 players with 697 pins over four games. Vincent was the only T-Byrds player to advance out of the Zone 1 Tournaments. Vincent will move on and compete in the state finals at Stardust Lanes in Addison from May 8-9.
Tony Milton led T-Byrds in the U8 Boys Division, taking eighth place with 267 pins. Sergio Ramos finished 12th with 235 pins, while Zachary Waddle claimed 13th with 221 pins. Kiera Hopp was the lone T-Byrds U10 Girls Division participant, placing 14th with 185 pins. Seth Pritchett represented T-Byrds in the U10 Boys Division, taking 21st with 147 pins.
Kylie McCullough and Layla Person bowled for T-Byrds in the U12 Girls Division, finishing 22nd and 25th with pin counts of 270 and 216, respectively. Jaxon Breit led T-Byrds in the U12 Boys Division, taking 17th place with 349 pins while Josh Moser placed 23rd with 319 pins. Landyn Dummer (28th), Levi Waddle (29th) and Bryson Stewart (32nd) recorded pin counts of 278, 249 and 209, respectively.
Devansh Patel and Sergio Guevara were the high rollers for T-Byrds in the U15 Boys Division tournament at Cherry Bowl, taking 32nd and 33rd with pin counts of 633 and 632, respectively. Dalton Merriman (54th), Sam Tracey (55th) and Trent Kreider (56th) finished with pin counts of 491, 484 and 483, respectively. Drew Sanders and Dylan Roe rounded out the T-Byrds U15 boys with respective finishes of 59th (448) and 63rd (432).
Addy Newlin took 19th in the U15 Girls Division with 565 pins, while Faith Adams finished 33rd with 411 pins. Nathan Vaupel was the only T-Byrds bowler in the U17 Boys Division, placing 32nd with 469 pins. Alyssa Mickley led T-Byrds in the U17 Girls Division, finishing 16th with 682 pins while Allison Wendel (18th), Alyssa Schwanert (19th) and Paige Roe (22nd) followed with pin counts of 630, 607 and 467, respectively.
