ROCHELLE — A little history, with plenty of heat, will entertain those going on the June 14 Flagg Township Museum walk.
Retired Rochelle Fire Chief Tom McDermott noted that before the Great Chicago Fire in 1871 Rochelle had suffered three major fires. McDermott will talk about fires from ‘bucket brigades’ to fire engines as he cuts through the smokey haze history of the city with fire.
You can join the walk and learn facts you have never heard before at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14. Walks are part of Second Friday activities in downtown Rochelle and are free, with a freewill donation taken at the end.
