ROCHELLE – Celebrate Memorial Day at the Flagg Township Museum with a Memorial Day History Program - The Weapons of the Other Guys - on Saturday, May 31 at 1 p.m. The program includes exploring the extensive personal collection of armaments of presenter, Robert Barger and the history behind the weapons of the other guys. A large exhibit of the armaments collected by Barger will be on display. What are the differences in the World War II armaments used by the other guys? Are there similarities? What made a difference in the long run? Find out more in this new perspective about the weapons used by the other guys and how the armaments of the soldiers in World War II made a difference. Light refreshments will be available.
Visitors are always welcome to use the research station, Research Rochelle, to access the comprehensive lists compiled by Lydia Roberts of veterans buried in St. Patrick’s Cemetery and Trinity Memory Gardens. Visitors are able to access these lists and more through the museum’s digital records at the research station. Veterans and families of veterans can use the biographical forms and suggested questions available from the Veterans History Project that are always available to encourage the sharing of memories.
