Dear Editor,

On Monday, Aug. 10 a large tree fell on my van while I was driving south on Illinois Route 251. Two young men, who work at the Rochelle Airport, rescued me by breaking branches away. They then took me to the airport hanger. I am extending a big heartfelt thank you to both of them.

After arriving at the airport hanger, the young man who helped me from the van came to open the vehicle door for me. A bolt of lightning struck right beside us knocking him in to a mud puddle. He said he was ok, and I hope he is. He is a hero.
