SOUTH BELOIT — Vicki Marie Pickett, 74, of South Beloit, passed away after battling cancer on Sunday, June 27 in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1946 in Mendota, the daughter of Wilbur and Betty (Arjes) Cardot. Vicki was a 1964 graduate of Paw Paw High School. Vicki married Michael DeGryse on March 7, 1964. She then married Paul Padilla on June 15, 1979. He predeceased her on Sept. 9, 2000. Vicki later married Terry Pickett on March 10, 2004.

Vicki was formerly employed by Family Dollar. She was known for putting everyone before herself. Vicki enjoyed raising her children and grandkids and going to all of their activities. She loved spending time with her family, they meant the world to her. Vicki and Terry enjoyed going on road trips, shooting at the gun club and cheering on Vicki’s favorite team, the Chicago Bears, and Terry’s favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, together.

Survivors include her husband, Terry; daughters, Pamela (Gregory) Draper, Angela “Angi” (Tracy) Schmoldt, Rhonda (Troy) Ditsworth and Tonya Donovan; nine grandchildren, Hailey (Bradley) Marshall, Joshua Draper, Tanner (Tiffany) Kramer, Tayler Malmstrom, Traci Malmstrom, Tyler (Stacy) Jensen, Alexis Halzel, Kayla Halzel and Hanna Donovan; great grandchildren, Tally Rose Kramer, Tinlee Kramer, Weston Marshall, Silas Marshall and Aubriella Hickman; brothers, Arthur “Art” (Rhonda) Cardot of Ashton, and Jeffrey (Jeanine) Cardot of Loveland, Colorado; uncle, Richard (Caroline) Arjes of Arizona; several nieces and nephews; cousins, other relatives and friends and beloved dachshund, Ben.

Vicki was predeceased by her parents, son, Christopher DeGryse; sister, Mary Schabacker and her beloved dachshund, Duke.

A memorial service for Vicki will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd. in Beloit, with Pastor David Meding officiating.

Inurnment will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery. Visitation of remembrance will be from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
