ROCHELLE — Viola Alma Lindquist, 100, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 3 at the Franklin Grove Nursing Home in Franklin Grove. Vi was born on June 26, 1921, the daughter of August and Martha E. (Dilling) Felgenhauer in Rochelle. On Feb. 8, 1941, she married Chester J. Lindquist in Rochelle.
Vi farmed with Chester until his passing in 1962. After that, she worked for the dentist, Dr. Goggeshall and then for Don Taylor State Farm Insurance for many years, retiring in 1991. Vi was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle.
She is survived by her son, John Lindquist of Rochelle; four grandchildren: Craig McIntyre, Tanya Lindquist, Lillian Zoss and Nicholas (Samantha) Lindquist; and niece, Barbara Lindquist. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Lindquist in 2017 and brother, Wilbur Felgenhauer in 2014.
The visitation will be from 9-10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 10 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle. The service will follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Vi’s memory to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
