ROCHELLE — Wayne Edward Myroth, age 90, passed away peacefully at the Rochelle Community Hospital on Friday, October 18, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of the Ashton and Rochelle, IL area. Wayne was born on August 19, 1934 in rural Rochelle, IL the son of John and Hazel (White) Myroth.

Wayne graduated from RTHS in 1952 where he was an active FFA and NHS member. He spent many years farming and being a ranch manager for Kingdom Ranch in rural Rochelle. In 1969, Wayne joined Del Monte Plant #109 as a mechanic and later as a production supervisor. He retired in 1996 from the Mendota, IL Del Monte plant. He was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church and a former member of the Kiwanis Golden K club.  Wayne was very considerate and generous donating blood for over 50 years at the Rock River Blood Center.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wynetta (Koch) Myroth, whom he married April 9, 1961 at the Rochelle UMC; his daughter, Susan (Scott) Heikes of Columbia, IL; his son,  David (Becky) Myroth of Rochelle; 6 grandchildren, Amanda (Jonathan) Sander, Emily (Robert) Skowron, Heather (Jordan Allaman all of Columbia, IL, Jacob Myroth of Morrison, IL, Paige Myroth of Lincolnshire, IL and Brooke Myroth of Nashville TN; 9 great grandchildren; his sister, Wanda Macklin of Rochelle; brothers-in-law, Fred (Anita) Koch of Ashton and Charles (Carol) Koch of Fond du Lac, WI; and several nieces and nephews. 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Floyd and Viola Koch;  brother, John C. Myroth Jr.; brother-in-law, Dale Macklin; and nephew, Paul Macklin. 

Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Unger Horner Funeral Home,400 N 6th St., Rochelle.

Funeral will be at 10:00A.M. on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Rochelle United Methodist Church with Pastor Katherine Paisley and Rev. Dana Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rochelle Community Hospital and the Rochelle United Methodist Church.
