FRANKLIN GROVE — Wilbur W. Sanner, 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Franklin Grove Living & Rehab Center in Franklin Grove. Wilbur was born on June 21, 1933 to Cecil and Elva (Harris) Sanner in Spencer, Wisconsin. He proudly served with the United States Army from 1954 - 1956. Wilbur was a lifelong farmer in the Rochelle/Chana area.
Wilbur is survived by his step daughter, Toni (Stan) Magnusson of Glendale, Arizona; sister, Wilma (Carl) Burchett of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews.
Wilbur is predeceased by his parents; four sisters, Evelyn Hardy, Dorothy Marquez, Helen Swenson and Shirley Jackson; two brothers, Wayne and Richard Sanner; and loving companion, Maxine Olson and her daughters, Nancy Powell and Janet Smith.
The visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don Lyon officiating. Burial will be at Daysville Cemetery by Oregon.
Memorials may be made in Wilbur’s memory to Serenity Hospice and Home.
