Dear Editor,
I am writing to endorse Mike Rock for Ogle County State’s Attorney.  I have known Mike for many years as a strong Christian, family man, community member and lover of the law.  Mike’s reputation and competence as an attorney is above reproach.
There is an old expression, “Justice delayed is justice denied.”  This expression relates to the need for a speedy trial as it is unfair for the injured party to have to sustain the injury with little hope for resolution. More importantly, when Americans perceive the justice system is a stacked deck for those with influence or power, lawlessness in the form of vigilante justice can occur. 
Whether it is on the national stage or local stage, Americans expect law enforcement to uphold the laws of the land equally and without bias or prejudice.  Mike Rock understands this.
