Wrestling: Andronic brothers bring home titles at 2025 Northern Plains Regional Championships

Rochelle athletes earn first-place finishes during tournament in Rochester, Minnesota.

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Rochelle's Nehemiah and Elias Andronic brought home a trio of titles during the 2025 USA Wrestling Northern Plains Regional Championships in Rochester, Minnesota from May 9-11. The brothers were two of multiple area athletes representing the Forge Wrestling Club.

Elias Andronic wrestled in the Boys 8U 62 Division and finished first in both the freestyle and greco-roman competitions. Elias went 3-0 in the freestyle tournament, scoring a 13-2 technical fall over Minnesota's Rudy Kern and a 13-0 technical fall over South Dakota's Waylon Webster before beating Minnesota's John Joswiak via 11-0 technical fall to clinch the freestyle championship.

Elias went 4-0 in the greco-roman competition, scoring 9-0 technical falls over Nebraska's Ryder Gallardo and Minnesota's Rudy Kern before posting a 9-1 technical fall over Minnesota's John Joswiak. Elias defeated South Dakota's Waylon Webster to seal his greco-roman championship.

Nehemiah Andronic wrestled in the Boys 10U 84 Division, finishing first in greco-roman and second in freestyle. Nehemiah went 2-0 in the greco-roman competition with 9-0 technical falls over Illinois' Alexander Cid and Minnesota's Henry Seidl. Nehemiah finished 2-1 in freestyle wrestling, notching a 10-0 technical fall over Minnesota's Axel Hanson and a 15-5 technical fall over Illinois' Alexander Cid.
