The Rochelle Wrestling Club opened the 2024-25 season in a big way over the weekend, sending 28 athletes to the 3rd Annual Ezra Hill Memorial Tournament. The RWC crowned six individual winners and five runner-up finishers at the event on Sunday.

DEKALB — The Rochelle Wrestling Club opened the 2024-25 season in a big way over the weekend, sending 28 athletes to the 3rd Annual Ezra Hill Memorial Tournament. The RWC crowned six individual winners and five runner-up finishers at the event on Sunday.

Dustin Hutcherson Jr. finished first in the Beginner Intermediate 84-87 Division with a 3-0 record. Hutcherson Jr. scored a 10-2 major decision over Sandwich’s Grayson Kurtz as well as a fall over Ottawa’s Atlee Anderson and a 18-3 technical fall over Sycamore’s Beau Fabrizius.

Ty Johnson finished first in the Tots 42-43 B Division with a 2-0 record, winning by fall over SCN’s Brody Norman and St. Charles Wrestling’s Logan Molina. Jacksyn Windham finished first in the Senior 203-211 Division with a 2-1 record, notching both a first-round fall and earning a 12-5 decision against Harvey Twisters wrestler Glenn Harston III in the third round.

Elias Andronic finished first in the Bantam 61-62 Division with a 2-0 record, scoring a 17-1 technical fall over Barrington’s Brody Krause and a fall over SCN’s Easton Adamson. Nehemiah Andronic finished first in the Intermediate 78-80 Division with a 3-0 record, securing a fall over SCN’s Reid Wikierak and a 15-0 technical fall over Harvey Twisters wrestler Kaydin Feliciane before winning the first-place match against LZWC’s Lyndon Abrantes by 10-0 major decision.

Raya Windham finished first in the Girls 102-105 Division with a 2-0 record, collecting two falls over Maddog’s Stella Floreani. Mason Johnson took second in the Beginner Bantam 62-65 Division with a 1-1 record, earning a 13-7 decision over Knights Wrestling’s Thompson Curran. 

Huck Benner took second in the Beginner Bantam 89-95 Division with a 1-1 record, notching a 12-9 decision over Martinez Fox Valley Elite’s Manuel Calderon. Dominic Escatel took second in the Novice 89-97 Division with a 2-1 record, winning by fall over SCN’s Joseph McKay and scoring a 12-1 major decision against Alber Athletics wrestler Blake Fernandes.

Cooper Harris took second in the Bantam 58 Division with a 1-1 record, winning by fall over SCN’s Jonathan Gray. Xander Gonzales took second in the Intermediate 123-136 Division with a 1-1 record, notching a 12-6 division against St. Charles Wrestling’s Colt Melvin. 

Jaxyn Manna placed third in the Tots 45-47 Division with a 1-1 record, scoring a 13-6 decision against DeKalb’s Casen Brown. Ben Morris placed third in the Senior 169-186 Division with a 1-1 record, winning by fall over Riot’s Kellen Tiffany. Eoghan Good placed third in the Bantam 51-54 Division with a 1-1 record, winning by 9-0 major decision over DeKalb’s Boden Egler.

Easton Huff placed third in the Bantam 85-88 Division with an 0-2 mark. Wells Millard placed third in the Intermediate 60-62 Division with a 2-1 record, notching a 13-0 major decision against Knights Wrestling’s Brooks Webb and a 19-3 technical fall over Harvard’s Kasen Book.

Fourth-place finishers include Adam Bukovsky (Beginner Bantam 69-72), Kolten Andersen (Tots 41), Amos Andronic (Tots 42-43 A), Grant Cole (Intermediate 75-77) and Chase Marruffo (Intermediate 100-109). Fifth-place finishers include Teddy Millard (Novice 72-77). Sixth-place finishers include Gavin Smith (Novice 89-93) and Montana Contreras (Senior 139-143).
